Designed for cricketers aged 16 – 19 years who are looking to take their game to the next level in the winter months. Admission to the program is by application only as the program has a minimum skill requirement.

Off-Season High Performance Program 2011

Successful applicants for this elite level program will possess high levels of cricket skills and fitness, be self-disciplined, highly dedicated, highly motivated and prepared to work extremely hard to develop their game.

Working twice weekly with Mark Atkinson over a 14 week program players will train like first class cricketers to further enhance their existing skills and match awareness.

The program commences in the week beginning Monday 2nd May and concludes the week commencing Monday 8th August.

Program content includes:

  • An individually customised high performance strategy and program
  • 2 x 1 hour individual skills session per week
  • A fitness and nutrition program
  • ‘Thinking Cricket’ mental skills and planning program
  • 1 hour squad net sessions per week
  • 1 hour fitness session per week

To date Mark has amassed extensive professional experience as an elite player with the Tasmanian, the Prime Ministers XI, Australian XI and Australia ‘A’ teams and an array of clubs in the United Kingdom and New South Wales. Mark’s elite level cricket experience is complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in physical education, which has enabled him to apply his knowledge of bio mechanics, skill acquisition, sport psychology and learning methodologies to his own career as a professional player and coach. His coaching credentials and expertise have been further enhanced through the attainment of his Level 3 cricket coaching accreditation from Cricket Australia. Mark has a Master’s degree in Business Administration, from Southern Cross University, Australia.
